Norah Jones will be a part of a special all-star celebration for Bob Dylan’s 69th birthday on May 27 at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. The 31-year-old singer will join a host of other musicians for the one-night only party that is being dubbed “Dylan Fest 2010 – a Night to Get Drunk and Celebrate Bob Dylan.”
Leading the festivities will be the Cabin Down Below Band, a loose collective of musicians lead by New York punk icon Jesse Malin. The band has a history of playing tributes, most recently at Petty Fest 2009.
Some of the other musicians scheduled to appear include Fab Moretti and Nikolai Fraiture of the Strokes, Patrick Carney of the [lastfm]Black Keys[/lastfm], Adam Green, Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl of the [lastfm]Ghost of a Saber Toothed Tiger[/lastfm], [lastfm]the Pierces[/lastfm], Binki Shapiro from [lastfm]Little Joy[/lastfm], Nicole Atkins and Tyson Ritter of the [lastfm]All-American Rejects[/lastfm], among several others.
Tickets for the show are only $13 dollars. It is not yet known if Dylan himself will make an appearance at the event.
