Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott has responded to rumors that the band has broken up
, saying that they are completely false.
Elliott stated that the band “couldn’t imagine doing anything else” and has no plans to split.
The rumors of a break-up started in October, when 23 North American [lastfm]Dep Leppard[/lastfm] shows were canceled and never rescheduled. At the time, the band cited “unforeseen personal matters.”
Elliot recently told the Daily Star that “there wasn’t any mystery to it really. My wife was pregnant and needed a bit of attention from me, which she wasn’t getting. There was a lot of things (sic) in our private lives that needed attending to.”
“We’re not splitting,” he added. “Not at all.”
The band’s last album, 2008′s Songs from the Sparkle Lounge, featured the singles “Nine Lives,” – with country star Tim McGraw – and “C’mon C’mon.”
