Katy Perry will host this year’s Teen Choice Awards

 on Monday August 9. The show airs just two weeks before the release of her new album, Teenage Dream. Last year [lastfm]the Jonas Brothers[/lastfm] hosted the annual event. [lastfm]Miley Cyrus[/lastfm] hosted in 2008.

This week, Perry also released a teaser for her new “California Gurls” video on YouTube. The 30 second clip shows [lastfm]Snoop Dogg[/lastfm] greeting viewers in a land full of sweets and goodies. Perry dances through the Candy Land themed set, where she is introduced as a playing piece.

Teenage Dream is slated for an August 24 release in the U.S.
