It looks like Bon Jovi will take a break after the band’s upcoming tour. Drummer Tico Torres and guitarist Richie Sambora broke the news to Billboard.com.
“I think we need to take a break,” Torres said. “It’s a long, extensive tour since last February.”
Added Sambora: “We do need a little bit of a break, but not that much of a break, ’cause what’s going to happen is there’s more songs to be written and… Y’know, guess what? We want to be the Rolling Stones. I know I do.”
Bon Jovi will next hit the stage on February 9 when they appear in University Park, Pennsylvania. As part of the tour, the band will hit the New Orleans Jazz Fest in April, along with classic rockers like John Mellencamp and Jeff Beck.
Bon Jovi was one of the biggest bands in music last year. The LA Times estimates they drew $120 million in combined earnings for 2010.
