Last night thousands gathered at Union Station in downtown Washington, DC to watch 46 Mommas “Shave for the Brave” in an unbelievable gesture of love.  These mommas were all reluctantly drafted into the ranks of parents whose children were diagnosed with Cancer.  They came from every corner of the country to Washington to take a stand, create some commotion and raise money to stop childhood cancer!

[photogallerylink id=55892 align=left] Each year St Baldrick’s hosts the Shave for the Brave bringing the community and the country together with 46 Mommas bold enough to shave their head in front of a massive crowd!  [Why 46? Each weekday in the United States, 46 mothers are told that their child has cancer.]

The Tommy Show’s adopted Momma Amy Cagle let us be a part of this incredibly personal experience.  Tommy and her son Auston shaved Amy’s head together! Cagle’s long blond hair will be donated to make wigs for other kids with cancer and her statement will be heard all around her hometown when she returns to Alabama.
