BOX OFFICE: Kids ruled the box office as Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted took in over $60 million.  Sci-fi thriller Prometheus came in second. Snow White and the Huntsman made top 3 for the second week and fun side note for the folks playing along at home, The Hunger Games hit the $400 million milestone over the weekend.

ON TV: The final 10 contestants travel with Emily to London on the Bachelorette (ABC 8pm), Mark Wahlburg is making a cameo on The Late Show with David Letterman (he’s in that new movie Ted) (CBS 11:35) and the creator of Gilmore Girls is back with another bubble gum drama called Bunheads  (ABC Family 9pm).

AROUND TOWN: Best selling writer George Pelecanos, who is a local by the way, is doing a book signing at Busboys and Poets (2021 14th St NW, More info) and Joan Rivers, who is not a local, is reading from her book “I Hate Everyone…Starting With Me,” at Sixth and I Historic Synagogue.
