D.C.’s very own Markette Smith talks to The Tommy Show about being a finalist for a chance to co-host alongside Kelly Ripa on ABC’s Live! With Kelly.

D.C.’s Markette Smith is ready to take the world by storm. When Smith heard about Live! With Kelly‘s co-host search, she quickly entered and was chosen out of thousands as a Top 25 finalist. She quickly formed a team of supporters and launched a campaign using social media. Her team included family, friends, and colleagues who used Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn to encourage people to leave a comment on the “Live! With Kelly” cohost page telling Kelly to “Choose Markette.”  As a result, Markette was selected to be in the Top 10. Now the votes are in America’s hands to choose the Top 5. The five finalists with the most votes will travel to New York City and compete for a chance to cohost an ENTIRE episode that will air on Tuesday July 24th, which also happens to be Markette’s birthday. Voting is crucial and ends Wednesday July 11th at 3:00. Vote for our local girl Markette.
