In 2010, World Health Organization has stated that 314 million people in the world are visually impaired and 45 million individuals are blind. The Vision Walk Foundation Fighting Blindness, has had a huge imprint on the blinding retinal diseased community.

VisionWalk, Bjorn Brooks Interview

This signature fundraising 5K walk has been active since 2006. VisionWalk has raised over $22 million towards life changing research and steps closer to a cure.

With a killer fashion sense and a determined personality fourteen year old spokesperson Bjorn Brooks drives VisionWalk into full throttle. Brooks was born legally blind which resulted in a genetic eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa.

Brooks slamming Usher shades are not only bringing in the A-list celebrities, such as Gwuwine, but state attorney Ms. Alsobrooks, Maryland County Executive Rushern Baker and Chick-Fil-A Corporation for support. Brooks has also encouraged the expansion among many Prince Georges County schools. Including Brandywine and Baden Elementary, Gwynn Park Middle and High School. These schools brought in “around 3,000 students” for support.

With the fire burning under Brooks and VisionWalk a new beginning is on its way. The Foundation Fighting Blindness is making a difference and giving a brighter world for those who are suffering with retinal degenerative diseases.
