ON TV: You know I was just thinking what the world needs is another singing competition – but this time lets make the competition about the coaches – like Gloria Estefan riding a lawn mower, or Joe Jonas defending himself from Taylor Swift fans who swear up and down her new song is about him. That all happens on The Next tonight (CW 9pm)…PS.. He says Taylor’s song is not about him.

AROUND TOWN: If you’re sick of hearing the “I’m board.” You’ve only got a couple more weeks, hang in there parents.  In the meantime, Cirque has parked in National Harbor and popped up their tent chock full of acrobats, contortionists and a guy who rows across an imaginary pond. That should keep ‘em distracted.

THIRSTY THURSDAY: For all of you keeping track at home here’s what we’re up to this week: We’re celebrating Restaurant Week, Shark Week,  Julia Child’s Birthday, the day we lost Elvis, Beer Week, but for today’s thirsty thursday…. it’s the third anniversary of DogFish Head Alehouse in Fairfax! Tonight their busting out few cult brews like their 120 minute IPA and they’re putting it in their fancy anniversary pint glasses. Your supposed to give those back but who’s to say anyone will notice if you slip it into your tote. MORE.
