After a long South America Tour Black Eyed Peas Allan Pineda Lindo, better known as Apl.De.Ap, calls The Tommy Show from New York City to update us of a wonderful campaign ‘We Can Be Anything’ with Charity Dreams.
As a child Apl.De.Ap was adopted from the Philippines and was given an opportunity to not only receive an education but to pursue his music dreams.
After years of success Apl.De.Ap feels what else to do but to give back.
Apl.De.Ap says “The campaign is focused on education – The backlogs of classrooms in the Philippines. There’s a shortage of classrooms and kids are crammed into one classroom. Our goal is to build 10,000 classrooms in about two years.”
With rumors swirling around about Ashanti taking Fergie’s place Apl.De.Ap finally puts those rumors to rest.
He laughed and said “That’s a bad rumor. We always take a break after two album cycles. We’re just taking a little vacation and focusing on our individual stuff.”
Apl.De.Ap says while the Peas are taking a break as a group but the individual members are focusing on making compilations of music.
He also revealed that he’s really getting into deejaying right now “that career is growing and is an outlet to release some music.”
Apl.De.Ap said he is working on a DeeJay tour for 2013 as well as a solo album.
