“Together we can make a difference one sister at a time” said Carol Washington, founder of the Sister4Sister Inc.
After Washington’s mother and father past she went into a state of depression. But instead of staying in the dark, Washington walked into the light spreading her love and support.
Washington held a simple tea party which blossomed into her wonderful organization.
Sister4Sister is a nonprofit organization that supports and educates women on HIV awareness, domestic violence and other women struggles. Sister4Sister’s contributes workshops, seminars and one on one mentoring for all women in need.
One activity that is held once a month is Tuesday love talk. During this ‘Love Talk’ they discuss not only personal stories but sexual assault awareness to young girls and women.
Some ways of contributing to this foundation is writing letters to women who are incarcerated, making phone calls or even a simple donation. To find out more about Sisters4Sisters visit their website at http://www.sisters4sisters.org or call them at 301-552-7470.
“Anything is possible if we just believe and continue to preserver and be resilient” said Washington.
