Rob Thomas and Kyle Cook left an unforgettable impression at the intimate 200 person crowd of Fresh fans who skipped work, took a long lunch or said they ‘had a meeting downtown’ on Friday afternoon in Washington DC.  The Hamilton Live was full of Matchbox Twenty fans so pumped to get some acoustic time with two of the band’s members.  It has been sixteen years since MB20 came out with a full length studio album, and decade since their last one.  No, we’re not counting Exile on Mainstream, that was chocked full of greatest hits. We’re talking North, which is the NUMBER ONE RECORD IN AMERICA. North sounds just like you would want a Matchbox album to sound. Upbeat, masterfully crafted lyrics, wicked sound arrangement and Rob Thomas‘ voice that you could pick out of any line up. Before the guys took the lightly-fogged-well-lit-and-vibey-as-all-get-out-stage of Hamilton Live they chatted in the Green Room with Tommy McFLY and our amigos from NBC4.

As Rob was signing the wall and talking about spending some time with his family before they ship off to London he said he’d love to come back to the Hamilton with 94.7 Fresh FM. Anytime Bro, Anytime!!!! Another fun fact, Kyle Cook, is the man, has a great twitter handle and can completely pull off wear sunglasses inside.
