Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me? Not according to Jennifer Livingston from WKBT News 8 in LaCrosse, Wis. The on-air personality recently received an e-mail from a viewer that admonished her for not being a ‘suitable example for this community’s young people, girls in particular’ because she’s overweight. Livingston’s husband, a fellow WKBT anchor, posted the e-mail on his Facebook along with a message describing his frustration.

Livingston addressed the issue on air in a direct response and later with an interview.

Since it’s National Anti-Bullying Month, the situation has received a tremendous amount of attention. Ellen DeGeneres has even tweeted that she was so impressed with Livingston, that she’d love to meet her in person.
