The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday night’s drawing is estimated to hit $550 million due to a meteoric rise in ticket sales. Be sure to buy tickets before the 9:30 p.m. deadline, because experts predict there’ll most certainly be a winner this time.

Statistics show it probably won’t be me or you to walk away with the prize. The odds of a person getting struck by lightning in their lifetime are 1 in 5,000, but the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 175 million.
