Honorary Chairwoman of President Obama’s National Day of Service Summit on the National Mall, Chelsea Clinton, phoned The Tommy Show to talk about Saturday’s big event.
Whether you live in Bethesda or Boise, Alexandria or Anchorage everyone can take part in this weekend’s 57th Presidential Inauguration festivities. Four years ago, The First Family introduced a National Day of Service, encouraging everyone to roll up their sleeves and do something, even if it was a small thing, for their community, their country and the world.
On Saturday, Jan. 19, grab your family, friends, coworkers and Get Involved! Whether you join the thousands on the National Mall for a day of learning about exciting volunteer opportunities and participating in projects or want to do something in your own neighborhood, we are all working together to make things better.
The National Day of Service Summit will happen on the National Mall near the Washington Monument. Honorary Chairwoman Chelsea Clinton and a group of celebrity-advocates will perform and highlight one of seven themes of service: Community resilience, economic development, education, environment, faith, health and veterans and military families.
Eva Longoria, singer-songwriter Ben Folds, Iraq war veteran and Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden, Star Jones, Angela Bassett, Yolanda Adams, U.S. Rep and Iraq War veteran Tammy Duckworth, Mayor Michael Nutter of Philadelphia, and the World Children’s Choir will all participate.
94.7 Fresh FM’s Tommy McFLY will serve as the emcee. Be a part of something HUGE this weekend.
