Dave Matthews Fan Headed to Concert Picks Up the Stranded Singer

LANHAM, Md. (CBSDC) — If you’re headed to the Dave Matthews concert at Jiffy Lube Live July 27, keep an eye out for hitchhikers.

According to multiple reports, a fan on the way to the band’s Hersheypark Stadium show on Saturday pulled over to help a cyclist with a flat tire. She ended up saving the day for Matthews himself.

In disbelief, Emily Kraus and her boyfriend helped the singer (who was sans cell phone) load his bike onto her bike rack and drove him to the venue, CBS Philly reports.

Before being dropped off at the employee entrance, he asked for the couple’s cell phone numbers. Shortly afterwards, as they were tailgating in the parking lot, they got a call from a band representative. They were invited backstage and got upgraded to front-row seats.

Later, Matthews gave his saving-grace an on-stage shout-out. WATCH (jump to 0:55):
