On Monday, I broke the story that Sasha Obama wore an unicorn sweater made by the UK company ASOS to a University of Maryland basketball game. For the report, I received confirmation from a company official on Twitter and a second comment from a public relations staffer.

The Daily Mail then wrote a story with the information I provided on 94.7 Fresh FM’s web site without crediting the station or myself as the source of the information.

In their story, the rag quoted an ASOS tweet that was in direct response to one that I sent earlier that day. They conveniently left my Twitter handle out of their copy (as evidenced in the picture below) and omitted any mention of my original story or research from the entire article.

I have been called “pseudo media” and am by no means an award-winning journalist, but know enough to give credit where credit it due.
