She finally arrived after almost six weeks of waiting.
Our little Havanese puppy came home this week and it was love at first site for all. We were concerned about how she will do with our older Golden Retriever, “Louie”.
Immediately, our little puppy, that fits into the palm of our hand, was obsessed with our larger dog. No surprise my fiancé was also instantly in love with her. She is very good, however her first night with us was tough for her. It was her first night away from her litter mates and in a new environment but thankfully after about an hour of howling in her crate, she finally fell asleep.
My dog Louie and I slept next to her crate until she calmed down and as of 4 a.m., she was still was asleep. The breeder gave us a toy and blanket that had the scent of her mom, although initially it didn’t comfort her, she was snuggled up with it this morning.
My children have not met her yet so we have not yet given her a name. Coco, Vana, Bella are all in the running. We are excited to have this breed in our home and here is how we decided on getting a Havanese.
Have any advice for a new doggy mom?
