Beyoncé had an emotional night on Thursday as she wrapped her year-long “Mrs. Carter World Tour” in Lisbon, Portugal.
After performing in a multitude of cities during her 132-date run, the “Drunk in Love” singer paused her show before “XO” to address the crowd.
“If you all don’t know, tonight makes 132 shows. Tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter Show,” she said. “We started a year ago. And I want to say, this has been such a journey. In the past year, we’ve been so much together — the Super Bowl, shooting the videos, all of these shows…When I first started the tour, my baby was not even walking yet.”
Blue Ivy is now two-years-old and has been traveling the world with her mother and Jay Z.
It was after talking about her baby that she began to tear up. “I just want you to know that I am so lucky,” she said before touching a hand to her heart. “I’m giving y’all an ugly cry!” She laughed. “Thank y’all again. Thank you for allowing me to have a career.”
Before she finished her small speech, she made sure to thank the fans who have given her support since the kick off of her tour in April 2013. “When I fall, you lift me up. When I’m hungry, you feed me. And I just want to give you my light. I dedicate this song to you guys.”
