The White House Correspondents’ Association dinner is, on the surface, a light-hearted gathering of the media that encompasses the President, a host comedian and a truck load of celebrities. But deep down, it’s a celebrity madhouse with news organizations hoping to out star-power “the other guy.”
As Roxanne Roberts points out in the Post, “Unlike the Oscars, which reflect what goes on in Hollywood the other 364 days a year, the WHCA dinner has little to do with the actual business of covering the White House.” Each year, star crazy fans go on a safari for the biggest name at the party. I’m not above celebrity stalking, as you can see in my picture with Katy Perry from last year.
Searching the hashtag #WHCD, here are some media folks who bagged the biggest celebs during this past weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
