Superstar Sting has been an avid name in the music industry since the 70s and with over 40 years of music under his belt, he has accumulated a net worth of more than $300 million. But, his kids won’t see a dime of it.
Sting says his kids need to develop a work ethic and pave their own ways in life. Growing up poor near the Wallsend shipyards in England, he believes making his kids work for a living is important to their upbringing.
“They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I really respect and appreciate,” Sting said to Daily Mail in the UK. “Obviously, if they were in trouble I would help them, but I’ve never really had to do that. They have the work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own merit.”
Sting has six children, two from his marriage with actress Frances Tomelty and four from his current marriage to English actress Trudie Styler.
At the rate of spending, Sting says, there won’t be much left. “There won’t be much money left because we are spending it. We have a lot of commitments. What comes in, we spend, and there isn’t much left.”
