Katy Perry wrapped up the first of two shows in D.C. and did it with class and style.
Before her concert on Tuesday night, she took in some of D.C.’s best tourist sites, posting Instagram shots of her in front of the Washington Monument. She then spent some quality time with Vice President Biden.
For those who saw her on the last tour, this one is a bit more subdued. Instead of candy and lollipops, the theme is neon, butterflies and sunflowers – basically a snapshot from every little girl’s fantasy. Last night, the Verizon Center was filled with young girls donning cat ears and tiger prints.
The highlight of the show was her opening with “Roar” and then ending with an elaborate 3D edition of “Firework.”
During the show, she gave a special shout out to D.C., calling our fair city “the jugular” of the country.
She has her second of two shows tonight with openers Capital Cities. They go on around 8 p.m. and Katy hits the stage at 9 p.m. Expect about two-and-a-half hours of Prismatic fun.
