The last time Kris Allen was in D.C., he roamed the streets during Hurricane Sandy in a Ghostbusters costume, the singer revealed on The Tommy Show Wednesday morning.
Thankfully, the “American Idol” season eight winner had better weather this time around, when he performed at DC Lottery Live ahead of his concert at The Hamilton Live.
Allen is currently touring to promote his new album, “Letting You In,” which dropped in March. The tour will wrap right before his wife is due to give birth to their second child.
When asked if fatherhood has changed his approach to making music, Allen responded that now, “Everything I do is for something else and for someone else.”
The singer also reminisced about “American Idol,” the show that catapulted his career in 2009: “That was such a huge part of my life. It all happened really, really fast.”
Allen was a part of the series finale reunion with the other “Idol” winners in April. “I was just happy to be a part of it…It was just so much fun: a lot of hugs, a lot of memories and nostalgia,” he said
