Olympic swimming legend and Bethesda, Maryland, native Katie Ledecky threw out the first pitch before Wednesday night’s Nationals game against the Orioles, and Kelly and Tommy were at the game to witness it.
Before the pitch, Kelly Collis got to interview the gold medalist and Nats fan in the Clubhouse.
“It’s kind of a different feeling for me to have them be a fan of me when I’d been a huge fan of theirs for a couple years,” Ledecky said of the Nationals. “To have their support means so much.”
Kelly had to know: who’s the Olympian’s favorite player?
“I love Bryce; he’s obviously a fan favorite and he’s one of my favorites, so it was nice to see him,” she said.
Before Ledecky threw out the ceremonial pitch, she took off her five heavy Olympic medals one by one and handed them to Bryce Harper on the mound.
